Are members on this site screened?

Yes – For the safety and security of our members all ads are checked to verify authenticity. A valid e-mail address is required in order to become a member of this site – you will not be able to activate your account without one. All our services are confidential and your privacy is as much of a concern for us as it is for our members. What is the difference in entering as a guest and entering as a member?

Our site works on a membership system as we must be able to keep data files that contain your profile information and other information such as your “Hotlist”. Guests are free to browse the profiles of members, but in order to respond to ads using our emailing services you must be registered with a valid e-mail address. You must also be a member in order to create a “Hotlist” and use SuperMatch Wizard or the “EarlyBird” e-mail match service.

Our Refund Policy:

Our site has a no refund policy. This issue is covered prior to you joining, in the membership Terms and conditions, under both the refund policy agreement and the application form, which you agreed to, before joining the site as a Gold or Platinum member.

We offer a free trial period for all users, before they join as a Gold member. This is done to allow ALL members the facility to view the site and see how it works, in its entirety (with a few limitations to its use), before joining as a Gold member.

Unless there is an error in the operation of our program or processes, our system has a no refund policy after our services have been used, unless the goods are defective in some way. If you feel that our services have been defective in any way please contact us here, with your reasons for claiming a refund plus a copy of your user registration details and Transaction id Number or Payment invoice (without this we will be unable to help). The user registration details and invoice are sent to the user upon joining the site.

All refunds will be made within 30 days of the users application. If a refund is granted then this will be on a pro-rated basis for how long you have used the membership. A small administration charge will be deducted from the amount paid.

We operate within the recommended standards and laws regarding National and International fair Trading.

Are profiles censored? Is there any limit to what I can put in my profile?

Yes. All member profiles, when they are originally created as well as when they are modified, must be approved by our webmasters. We reserve the right to refuse any profile or photograph that we feel is inappropriate for this site. Also, we ask that you do not put any personal information in your profile, including, but not limited to: your home address, a personal beeper, cell or telephone number, a “real” e-mail address or personal web address. Any offenders of this rule will be banned from the site.

How long does it take to have my profile posted?

Your profile is posted immediately and is checked within 24 hours.

Important tips to remember when creating a profile

The number of replies you get from other members will depend on the quality of your profile. Here are some useful tips that should help you:

  • Upload a photograph. We cannot stress this enough – People like to see who they’re writing to and, as a result, profiles that have photographs attached get up to 10 or times more clicks than profiles that don’t. When creating the site, we wanted to make photograph submission as easy as possible, so please take advantage of this feature.
  • Create a catchy title for your profile: When members search listings on the site, the title of your profile is listed next to your name. As a general rule, profile titles like “Hi!” do not catch people’s attention, where as more personalized titles do.
  • Think before you write: Feel free to write as much as you want in our sign-up pages. Tell other members about yourself, your likes and dislikes, things you enjoy doing, what line of work you’re in, what your personality is like, even your hopes and dreams. The better your profile describes you, the more likely it is that others will read and respond to it. If you can’t think of anything right away, you can always add more later. And don’t forget to fill out the Matching Criteria section – this will also help other members get to know you better.

  • Uploading your photo, audio and video
  • Submitting your photo, audio and video can be even more important than writing a good description of yourself. A photo can achieve more than a thousand words, so make sure that your digital photo is in .JPG or .GIF format and a file size of less than 2Mb and upload it to your profile! If you are not sure how to change a file format or size send your picture to our Support Team and we will upload it for you!

Audio and video presentations are also crucial for your success. Tell people what you want them to know about you in your own words, and make them feel as if they have known you for ages!

Make sure you have audio file with a presentation that is no bigger than 2Mb with .mp3, .wma, .aif or .m4a extension, and a video file no bigger than 20Mb with .asf, .wmv, .mpg, .mpeg, .mpe, .mpa, .qt, .mov, .ram, .rm or .ra extension, and upload both to your profile. Then sit back, relax, and see your mailbox getting flooded with messages!

How do I change my personal information?

Changing personal information is extremely easy. If you would like to update the information about yourself that you submitted during registration, write a new heading and description for your profile as well as editing main criteria for your matches just go to the Update your profile option on MyCrowd page. There you can edit any part of your personal information; save it by clicking Submit button.

What are personal settings?

Your Personal Settings page is accessible directly from the MyCrowd page and allows you to:

  • change your e-mail address
  • change your phone and mobile phone numbers
  • create a new password
  • change your language settings
  • turn off banners (available to Gold and Platinum members only)
  • hide/show your online status
  • turn off/on updates and special offers sent to you by e-mail
  • set show or not show your SoulMatch and Sensuality Test results to others.

What is private content?

You are fully in control of your personal information, and can choose which member is allowed to see your photo, listen to your audio, view your video, and read your SoulMatch test results and sexuality description. You can make some of the content in your profile ‘private,’ by choosing ‘Private’ item in dropdown box when uploading photo, video or audio files or in your ‘Personals Settings’ section (for test results). This means that these parts of your profile will be seen only by those members who are marked as “allowed to view private content” in your HotList.

How do I delete my profile?

You can delete your profile at any time by following the link “Edit” on the “Home” page and choosing the corresponding option on the next page.

What is EarlyBird matches? How do I use it?

The EarlyBird service allows you, as our web-site member to describe the type of person you are looking for; the site will then notify you via e-mail of new members who match your preferences. In other words, you will receive prompt notification of new members that fit your criteria, without having to come to the site every day to look for them yourself.

How do I turn off my e-mails?

To turn off your EarlyBird matches and prevent these emails from being delivered to your inbox, please follow this procedure:

On ‘Home’ page click the link that says ‘Personal settings’ (it is in ‘Your setting’ block). There you will see the text ‘Receive SelectMatches by email’. Choose ‘Never’ then click ‘Submit’ at the bottom.

What is the “Hot List” feature?

When looking at the search results and listings, as well as other members profiles, you can see the button “Add to HotList”. Clicking on this will do exactly what it says. Your HotList is a list of members that you are interested in. It keeps a link to their page and remembers the last time you sent them an e-mail.

You can remove people from your Hotlist by clicking on the “Remove” checkbox next to their name in your personal profile page.

How do I manage groups in my HotList?

You will see that your HotList is divided into groups. Your default group is General where all the members are added if you don’t specify another group (you cannot delete the General group category). You can create as many groups as you like and rename or delete them by clicking Manage Groups on the HotList Page. You can also transfer members between groups by selecting members on the HotList page and choosing Move to in Actions menu. Then on a separate page you will need to specify the group you want selected members to be moved to and click Submit.

Note: If you delete the group, members from this group will be deleted automatically, so make sure you have transferred them correctly to other groups.

What is the “Block List” feature?

While viewing members profiles or reading or replying messages in your Mailbox you will have an option to add members to Block List. After you have added someone to your Block List you will not receive any notifications, cards or e-mails from this particular member unless you remove him or her from the Block List. This feature helps you limit your contacts with people you dont really like.

About New Members list

By clicking New Members on MyCrowd Page you can view the list of members who have just joined the site, and catch them while they are hot and new!

Even though the complete list is accessible for the full members only, trial members can still see the ten latest members to join our dating community.

What is Birthdays Next Week list?

Want to make someone’s day? Just send them a birthday greeting! By clicking Whose Birthday? link on the MyCrowd page you can view the list of members celebrating their birthdays next week! Sending a birthday card to the ones you like is a great way of making a first step and getting to know someone better!

Who is in the Online members list?

Feel lonely and would love to chat? Or maybe you’d like to give someone a call right now? Check out our online members list by clicking the Who’s online link on the MyCrowd page, and send the ones you like, a chat or call request!

You can also tell who’s online by the colour of the icon on the profile or search results as well as on the member lists. The blue icon indicates online status in our system, and a grey one will appear when they are offline.

What is the Pay for a friend feature?

Do you want to give someone a surprise and also help them find their soulmate? Giving somebody a membership is a great way to show you care. Just enter the username of your friend, and then follow our payment procedures; help someone else fulfil their dream!

ONCE I JOIN:

Advice following payment

Please save the payment confirmation e-mail that you receive after you have purchased your membership, and which contains your payment reference. This information helps you cancel your FuturePay agreement, independently. However we are always glad to help our customers with cancellations, so if you experience difficulties, please send us your username, payment agreement or transaction id, or your credit card number with the full name on the credit card. We will cancel your payment agreement for you.

How long does it take to get my membership activated?

Normally your Gold or Platinum membership is activated instantly. If your Gold or Platinum membership has not been activated within 24 hours, please contact our customer support department with your username and payment reference. Some payments require customer confirmation because of our anti-fraud policy.

How and when can I cancel my subscription(s)?

Please note that you can cancel the subscription at any time by giving us 28 days notice before your subscription period expires. After the cancelation of your subscription is made and your subscription period has expired, you will be downgraded to a free Trial membership.

To delete your profile: click on the “Edit” button in the upper right-hand corner of your Home page and then choose the “Delete your profile” option. You will then have a form to fill in. When you submit the form you will receive an e-mail to your registered e-mail address. You need to click on the link in that e-mail to cancel your subscription.

PAYPAL CUSTOMERS NOTE:

If you made this payment by Paypal you need to cancel your subscription manually.

To do that, please follow the steps:

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Click History at the top of the page.
  3. Find the subscription in your History.
  4. Click the Details link for the subscription.
  5. Click the Cancel Subscription button.

How do I search for members?

You can search our database by preferences, from your personal home page. You can change or add to your search criteria at any time and your personal search options will automatically save these changes for the next time you re-visit or return to your page. Read more about our SuperMatch system, which will help you to find your truly ideal match!

How do I send an e-mail to members?

You can send e-mail to users by clicking the button Send a message or Send a card on that person’s profile or listing. Simply type in your message or select a card you wish to send and click the “Send” button.

How do I receive e-mails from other members?

You don’t need to do anything to receive an e-mail sent to your account. If someone responds to your profile, we forward the message to your real email account. When you reply to the message, we automatically forward it to the person who responded to you. In this way, neither person finds out the other person’s email address without permission.

You can also view the status of the messages on your Inbox and Outbox folders. Messages in your Inbox folder can be New, Read or Replied, and in your Outbox they are either Sent or Read (meaning the recipient has read them).

How do I recognize scammers?

Scammers are mostly MEN pretending to be women seeking love. They will be writing you sweet e-mails saying how much in love they are and how much they want to meet you in real life.

There could be several reasons listed below. We suggest that you use the automated password/username lookup form.

  • Your username or password might be incorrect. You might want to clear the password field and try again.
  • Your account has been deleted during our review process (please, check your incoming email we would have sent you notification if this was the case)
  • You’ve changed your e-mail address and need to reactivate your account (please, check your incoming email and click activation link in the activation e-mail we have sent)
